UK documents for Spain
Since Brexit, UK citizens moving to Spain need visas and residence permits that call for UK documents with an apostille and a sworn translation into Spanish. We specialise in exactly that.
Documents you will usually need
- ACRO police certificate, for long-stay visas and residence.
- Birth and marriage certificates (certified copies from the General Register Office).
- Degree certificates, for the digital nomad or highly qualified professional visas.
- Medical certificate, for the non-lucrative and student visas, when it is not in Spanish.
Apostille from the FCDO
UK public documents are apostilled by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Legalisation Office. Degree certificates usually need a solicitor or notary to certify a copy first. Apostille the document before we translate it.
Sworn translators accepted by the consulate
Spanish consulates in the UK accept translations by sworn translators appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ours are, and we deliver the translation as an e-signed PDF or on paper for your appointment.
How much does it cost?

Frequently asked questions
How recent must my ACRO certificate be?
Consulates usually accept certificates issued within the last three to six months. Check the requirements for your visa and order the translation as soon as the apostilled certificate arrives.
Does the apostille need translating?
It depends on the authority. We translate whatever your consulate or office requires, including the apostille when needed.
