Sworn translations for international adoption

The adoption file is translated into the language of the child’s country of origin, and after the adoption the child’s documents must be translated into Spanish. We do it with the care it deserves.

File for the country of origin

  • Certificate of suitability issued by your autonomous community.
  • Psychosocial and medical reports.
  • Criminal record, birth and marriage certificates.
  • Employment, income and asset certificates.
  • Post-adoption follow-up undertaking and other documents required by the country.

Legalisation and language

Each country sets the language and whether documents must be apostilled or legalised. They are normally apostilled in Spain before being translated. Your accredited adoption agency will tell you the order; we adapt to it.

After the adoption

We translate the adoption judgment or decision and the child’s birth certificate into Spanish for registration with the Civil Registry, and the follow-up reports into the language of the country of origin for as many years as they are required.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to translate an adoption file?

It depends on the number of documents and the language. As the minimum applies per order and language, translating the whole file at once is the most economical option. Send it to us and we will give you a fixed quote.

Do you handle the documents confidentially?

Yes. They are very personal documents: only the translator and your project manager see them, and both are bound by confidentiality.
