When you need it

  • Homologation or equivalence of a foreign degree in Spain.
  • Admission to a master’s or doctoral programme at a Spanish university.
  • Student visas, highly qualified professional visas or digital nomad visas.
  • Studying or working abroad with a Spanish degree.

Documents usually translated

  • The degree certificate (one page: fixed price).
  • The academic certificate or transcript, with subjects, credits or hours.
  • The European Diploma Supplement, if it is not already in the language required.
  • Course syllabi, when the authority wants to compare content.

Apostille and copies

Degrees from outside the EU usually need an apostille or legalisation before they are translated. For Spanish degrees you will use abroad, we tell you whether they need to be legalised or apostilled and in what order.

Degrees in Catalan

Catalan universities issue many documents in Catalan. Translating them directly from Catalan into another language requires a sworn translator appointed by the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya); we work with them, so there is no need to go through Spanish first.

How much does it cost?

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to translate an academic transcript?

It depends on the word count: a two- or three-page transcript usually has between 500 and 900 words. Upload it to the calculator and we will give you the exact price straight away.

Do the course syllabi need to be translated?

Only if you are asked for them. Some homologation procedures require them to compare content; others don’t. Check before translating dozens of pages.

Do I need a sworn translation to study abroad?

It depends on the university. Many accept an official (certified) translation, which is more affordable. If they ask for a sworn or legalised translation, we do that too.
